Bruce worked in education in England for 40 years, including being a Mathematics Teacher, Head of Year, Deputy Headteacher and eventually becoming Headteacher of a Secondary School for 11 years. He was then employed, for 3½ years, by Education Bradford in England as an Education Consultant. Following that, He worked as a self-employed Education Consultant, as part of the Cambridge Education Core Team, undertaking Quality Reviews and School Improvement work in New York City and other parts of America for 4 years. He was then employed for 2 years by Cambridge Education on the Hillsborough County and Polk County projects for improving classroom practice. From April 2013 to the present, He has been employed as an independent consultant by CfBT(now EDT) leading and teaming in inspections in Abu Dhabi.

• School Inspection: Led School Reviews in New York City and other areas of the USA between 2006 and 2010. Worked in lead and team inspector roles in UAE between 2013 and 2017.
